Mr. Sallstrom is a graduate of the physician assistant program at the Nebraska College of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. After graduation he served in the Air Force as a Medical Corpsman for 5 years and then as a P.A. for 15 years before retiring to Burke County where he has lived and worked for over 15 years. Mr. Sallstrom is currently the President-elect of the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants.
He and his wife, Donna, have two adult children and one grandchild. He loves stock car racing and actually owns a stock car, AKA money pit on wheels. He also enjoys flying and has recently acquired his pilot's license.
