Burke Primary Care has added a new provider, a move the practice says will expand access to primary care for patients in Burke County and nearby communities.
The practice announced that Edson Jimenez has joined Burke Primary Care as a family nurse practitioner.
Jimenez is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with experience in acute care, long-term care, behavioral health and medical-surgical nursing, according to the practice.
Before joining Burke Primary Care, he served in several clinical leadership roles at Broughton Hospital in Morganton, where he provided patient care and supervised multidisciplinary health care teams. That background gives the announcement a direct Burke County connection beyond the new job itself.
Burke Primary Care said Jimenez earned a Master of Science in Nursing from Purdue Global University, graduating summa cum laude. The practice also said he is bilingual and brings a focus on compassionate care, preventive medicine, patient education and chronic disease management.
At Burke Primary Care, Jimenez will provide a range of primary care services, including preventive care, wellness visits, treatment for acute illness, chronic disease management and patient education for individuals and families.
“We are excited to welcome Edson to the Burke Primary Care team,” Chief Operating Officer Scott Gallagher said in the release. “His clinical experience, dedication to patient care, and ability to connect with patients from diverse backgrounds make him an excellent addition to our organization and the community we serve.”
Jimenez said he is looking forward to serving patients in Burke County. “I am honored to join Burke Primary Care and look forward to serving patients in Burke County,” he said. “My goal is to provide compassionate, evidence-based care while helping patients improve their overall health and quality of life.”
Jimenez enjoys spending time with family, running, working out, traveling and reading.
