Mia R. Griggs, MD Biography
Dr. Mia R. Griggs recently joined Burke Primary Care in January 2015 as a primary care family physician with an emphasis on sports medicine.
A member of both the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, Dr. Griggs was most recently employed with Cabarrus Family Medicine. She was a family physician and a sports medicine physician with that firm.
Dr. Griggs earned her MD degree from East Carolina University in 2001 and her BS degree in biology from Wake Forest University in 1997.
Additionally, Dr. Griggs completed her Family Medicine internship from University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina, Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville, NC Family Medicine Internship (July 2001-June 2002); her NC Residency in Family Medicine with University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina, Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville (July 2002-July 2004), and her Fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine with the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, Greenville, NC (August 2004-July 2005).
Dr. Griggs is a member of American Academy of Family Physicians, (2001-present) and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, (2003-present). Additionally, Dr. Griggs is an Affiliate Faculty member with University of North Carolina School of Medicine Chapel Hill and the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, Greenville, NC.
