Samuel B. Adkins, MD Biography
Dr. Adkins earned his M.D. from the University of Pittsburg School of Medicine (1983) and completed his residency in family practice at the St. Margaret Memorial Hospital in Pittsburg, Pa. (1986). Before joining Burke Primary Care, Dr. Adkins was a staff physician with Cabarrus Family Medicine and led its Sports Medicine and Injury Care programs. Dr. Adkins is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians; North Carolina Academy of Family Physicians; American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. Additionally, he served on the Dominica Medical Mission (2010); the Sri Lanka Medical Mission / Tsunami Relief (2005); the Guatemala Medical Mission (2004), and as a Texas Special Olympics Spring Games Medical Director (2003).
